WHY THE COUNSELLOR THING?

Firstly, it rhymes with my surname - Jessica Wing, The Counsellor Thing.
But why should you pick me as your therapist? I've been working with people experiencing poor mental health since 2016, and counselling since 2019. I’m a qualified Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, which means that in my training I studied multiple theoretical approaches and use a different combination of skills depending on the needs of my clients. I'm a real human (not clinical with a clipboard) and not afraid to be my authentic self, which I believe gives my clients permission and space to do the same.
I exclusively work with women and girls. The essence of my work is to facilitate a non-judgemental space for you to explore your experiences, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and gain empowerment in your own wellbeing. I endeavour to support my clients in a trauma informed way in which they feel safe, supported, and valued.
I offer counselling over a video conferencing platform. I enjoy online work because it is accessible. I can reach people all over the world:
• with disabilities
• that are housebound
• living in remote or rural areas
• without access to transport
• without childcare or respite
• with busy schedules
You can connect to sessions from the comfort and privacy of your own home, slotting therapy into your schedule at the most convenient time for you.
Alongside being a Counsellor I have worked as a Social Prescriber and a Mental Health Trainer. I have expertise in the "what matters to you" approach, with health coaching, and navigating to appropriate services within the community and charity sector. I have provided training for diverse delegate groups on a variety of topics including: stress, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicide, getting back into work, how to get help for a mental health problem, an introduction to mental health, professional boundaries, and dynamic risk assessment.
